Gujarat government has announced to hold Class 12 board exams in the state from July1.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Gujarat chief minister
Vijay Rupani
and is aimed in the larger interest of 6.83 lakh Class 12 students of the state.
In view of the prevalent current situation of ‘Corona’ pandemic in the state, after a detail deliberation on conducting the board examinations for Class 12 this decision was taken, the state government announced on Tuesday in a media statement.
Giving details about the decision, Gujarat education minister
Bhupendrasinh Chudasama
said that about 683,000 students will give their examinations for the 12th Std. Of them, nearly 140,000 students will be of the science stream and 543,000 students will be of the general stream, it said.
At the meet, CM Rupani gave clear instructions to the education department to strictly follow the Covid-19 protocol while conducting the examinations
The education department has also been given instructions to ensure that the students appearing in the examinations maintain social distancing, compulsorily wear mask, and will also follow the ‘Corona’ Transition Control Guidelines such as use of sanitizer, thermal gun, and others,” according to Chudasama
